Follow God Who?!

What does it mean to follow? yes, just follow...so would that signify that we are all alike and share the same tunic?? Rock the air Jesus sandals? Or even become cookie-cutter replicas of one another?. No not at all! God created everything around us and every one of you is reading this to be their own person. Your personality, your strengths, your mannerisms, and even your weaknesses are what make your identity unique.

Romans 12:5-7 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;

Your unique set of skills and personality is the makeup of your soul but without the proper guidance of the maker (the spirit of the Lord) we are just shooting off from the hip in life on pure talent alone. Being a follower embodies the ability to take your special uniqueness (soul) and the remission of what is a sin to then seek the guidance (Holy Spirit) to forgive our unknowing behavior (alter). for example, Paul states in the book of Romans;

Romans 7:7 ‘what should we say, then? Is the law sinful? Of course not! In fact, I wouldn't have become aware of sin if it had not been for the law. I wouldn't have known what it means to covet if the law had not said, "You must not covet."'

For everyone on earth, we all walk around in an unknowing behavior that at times may be offensive to God. Until that is the Spirit reveals it to us. We have to first seek repentance with an open and honest heart and then learn all the things that our hearts were thirsting to know. To seek the Lord with a doubtful heart will only make you book smart capable of conversing with any theologian. But the key is surrendering your heart to His (Jesus) way of understanding. A completely surrendered will is capable to penetrate you further beyond just consciousness so that when you are faced to make a right or wrong decision you will not only feel the pain of let down in your own heart but also in the heart of your God.
